Upcycled fabric tote bag with shoulder straps
This repurposed tote bag is hand-made with fabrics from SaturdayClub’s end of the line clothing, giving fresh life into unloved cast offs.
Limited to 1 piece per design
Due to the many unique and interesting designs of our clothing, special details such as ruffles, are carefully cut off, and pieced together to create this line of one-of-a-kind bags. This is one of the many ways we contribute to the sustainability of the fashion industry, minimizing cast offs ending up in landfills.
Each unique bag made tells a different story.
Alfya Atelier connects individuals recovering from mental health issues, from low-income backgrounds, youth and women at risk to job opportunities in sewing and tailoring. Each projects is matched with a beneficiary who will go through their free sewing workshops to pick up sewing skills and a chance to make their life better. They make time and meet at the studio for classes, and to use the sewing machines provided to complete the bags assigned to them. In a way, Alfya Atelier becomes a hub not only for job opportunities, but for emotional support as well.
This bag is made by Auntie Ping and Cik Nana, who are beneficiaries of Alfya Atelier. They are experienced seamstresses who have been matched with our sustainability project.
